On-site Radiology

We are pleased to offer our clients and their pets on-site DIGITAL radiology. The benefits of digital x-ray include:

• faster image processing (which means less stress on your pet)
• higher image quality and more ability to manipulate target areas (which leads to more accurate diagnosis)
• easier sharing of images via email or on CD (for cases who need to be referred to a specialist)

Radiographs are an important, non-invasive method of diagnosing common signs of disease, such as broken bones, enlarged organs, bladder stones, or foreign objects in the intestinal tract. A radiograph machine allows veterinarians to create a 2 dimensional image of the internal body structures through electromagnetic radiation.

We are also pleased to offer comprehensive diagnostic ultrasound services to our clients through a partnership with Dr. Seth Mitchell of Mobile Veterinary Imaging. Dr. Mitchell specializes in ultrasonography and travels to several veterinary clinics in southeast Florida, allowing your pet to have access to this service without going to a specialty or emergency center. Ultrasound is a non-invasive tool that may provide more information than radiographs for conditions such as heart disease, bladder disease, inflammatory bowel disease, pancreatitis, liver and adrenal disease, and when looking for certain cancers. Currently, Dr. Mitchell is able to see patients at the Palm Bay Animal Clinic and Oakview Animal Hospital locations on Tuesdays and Thursdays by appointment.
